Truly Nigeria

I dream of a Nigeria that is truly Nigeria
A Nigeria without borders amongst it's brothers
Whether you South East or South West
Whether you North East or North Central
A Nigeria alert without religion tearing us apart
A Nigeria where every young child knows his future is assured
A Nigeria where the elderly believe the youth can and should carry on
A Nigeria where every compatriots shall arise,
Arise against economic stagnation
Arise against religious damnation
Arise against leadership oppression
I want a Nigeria that is truly Nigeria

I dream of a Nigeria that is truly Nigeria
A Nigeria where the vast arable lands are cultivated and mechanized producing food for all
A Nigeria thats self-sustaining and knows no hunger
Where politicians are not just thugs in agbada
Where a graduate is not just a certified wakabout
Where power propels prosperity
A Nigeria where the Kanuri, Ebira, Jukun, Tiv, Idoma, Angas, Berom, Igalas are not just tribes and minorities, but Nigerians
A Nigeria where we truly are our brothers keepers
A Nigeria where your take home pay can really take you home.
All I want is Nigeria that is truly Nigeria

I still dream of a Nigeria
A  Nigeria of secured hopes, dreams and aspiration
Where the trains travails from Brass to Hadeija
Where my security in Maiduguri is as assured in Yenagoa
Where the police is really my friend
All I want is a Nigeria a truly Nigeria
That I can go home to

Haiku #1

Nigeria shall rise
Yes, Nigeria shall rise now
For it is our time.

Should have remained

We were in line, and poked fun at each other Both of us free, and ready to move in a new order
We became friends, bright and people red, though not right
It grew so tight, it was wrong a mistake we made that night;
We should have remained as friends

Lust took a big toll, love was a tow
Far we were posted, but we found a way unabated
You had you loss, I shared your grief, passionate and brief
It grew so tight, it was wrong, a mistake we made that night;
We should have remained as friends

Brother

You stab me, call me names talk behind my back
You deny me my worth, cheat me when you can, always wanting my lack?
Yet you are my brother?

You are shroud my opinions, silencing me when you can!
You toil with my emotions, try to dribble me with religions, divide me with regions
But you know you are my brother

And you my brother, I should smile with.
You my brother, I should love like me.
And you my brother, I do same to... For you are my brother.
